Pepita (drink)

Pepita is a carbonated grapefruit lemonade . The soft drink is part of Switzerland's culinary heritage and belongs to the family company Mineralquelle Eptingen . In addition, the beverage manufacturer Bad Dürrheimer has a license for the production and sale of Pepita in Baden-Württemberg .

history

  • When the Basel graphic artist Herbert Leupin was supposed to design a new label for the grapefruit soft drink in 1949, he invented the name Pepita with the corresponding Ara as a logo.
  • After color television emerged in Switzerland in 1968 , the first Pepita short advertising film flickered across domestic screens shortly afterwards.
  • In 1988 the Eptingen mineral spring launched the Pepita light.
  • In 2009, to celebrate Pepita's 60th anniversary, the original logo designed by Herbert Leupin in 1949 will be reintroduced.

Between 1941 and 1976, the Basel graphic artist Herbert Leupin designed numerous posters for the Eptingen mineral spring. It was during this time that the Pepita posters were created, which made a significant contribution to the spread and popularity of the Swiss cult drink.
