Coordinates: 32 ° 0 ′ S , 115 ° 46 ′ E The Shire of Peppermint Grove is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . Peppermint Grove is part of the metropolis of Perth , the capital of Western Australia. The area has about 16,500 inhabitants (2016) and is the smallest LGA in Australia with an area of 1.1 square kilometers.
Peppermint Grove is on the north bank of the Swan River near the estuary and about ten kilometers southwest of Perth city center. The LGA only consists of the district of the same name.

The Peppermint Grove Council has seven members. They are elected by all residents of the LGA. Peppermint Grove is not divided into districts. The Council Chairman and President des Shires are also recruited from among the Councilor.
