Per Boye Hansen (born October 11, 1957 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian opera director.

Life

Hansen studied theater studies and musical theater directing in Oslo and Essen . In 1983 he founded the Oslo Summer Opera ; In 1988 he was assistant director at the Cologne Opera . From 1990 he worked as an artist agent in Oslo.

From 2003 to 2005 he worked as operations and opera director at the Komische Oper Berlin .

From 2005 to 2011 he directed the Bergen Festival . In 2011 he was appointed to the committee of the International Ibsen Prize .

Hansen became the head of Den Norske Opera & Ballet in 2012 . However, he announced in May 2015 that his contract would not be extended beyond August 2017. The reason for this is a lack of mutual understanding . On August 1, 2019, he took over the management of the National Theater and State Opera Association in Prague .
