Per Espen Stoknes (born March 9, 1967 in Ålesund , Møre og Romsdal ) is a Norwegian environmental psychologist and politician. He is an Associate Professor at BI Norwegian Business School .

Life

Stoknes studied psychology at the University of Oslo , as well as organizational theory, philosophy and mythology.

In the legislative period 2017-2021 Stoknes is so-called Vararepresentant of Miljøpartiet De Grønne in Storting . As such, he represented Une Aina Bastholm's mandate between 2017 and 2018 when she was on maternity leave.

Act

Stokne's research areas include climate and environmental strategies, business psychology, and energy systems.

In the public debate about ways out of the climate crisis , Stoknes advocates global CO 2 labeling of all products and services in order to make their life cycle and ecological footprint understandable for consumers. In a contribution written together with Arnold Schwarzenegger , he called for an energy revolution in 2015.

His New York TED lecture in September 2017, How to transform apocalypse fatigue into action on global warming , received worldwide attention (subtitles in 14 languages ​​and 2.3 million views as of June 2019 ).
