Per Erik Gunnar Westerberg (born August 2, 1951 in Nyköping ) is a Swedish politician of the Moderata samlingspartiet and was President of the Swedish Parliament from October 2, 2006 to September 29, 2014 .

The economist Westerberg has been a member of the Reichstag since 1979. In the Bildt government from 1991 to 1994 he was Minister of Economic Affairs. From 2003 to 2006 he was Vice-President of the Reichstag and its senior president , before he was elected President in the 2006 election with 177 to 169 votes. The opposing candidate was Björn von Sydow, President of the Reichstag up until then .
