List of domestic dogs

The Basque Shepherd Dog Perro Pastor Vasco [ 'pero pas'toɾ' βasko ] ( Spanish ) or Euskal Artzain Txakurra [ eus'kal aɾ'tsain tʃa'kura ] ( Basque ) is a breed of sheepdog from the Basque Country . The breed is not recognized by the FCI , but is recognized by the Spanish Canine Society Real Sociedad Canina de España (RSCE), which is a member of the FCI.

Its relationship to the other "light" shepherd dogs of the Pyrenees is undisputed. As is often the case with shepherd dogs, regionally different beats have developed. The hair structure of dogs ranges from long and straight to rough-haired, in brown shades. Undercoat is present. The fur is absolutely weatherproof, which is also required at the high altitude of the Pyrenees.
