Cary Lee Mullen (born October 12, 1969 in Banff ) is a retired Canadian ski racer .

Mullen surprised for the first time in the 1992/93 season when he finished 4th on the downhill from Whistler and was followed by a 7th place in the following race in the Sierra Nevada . He had already finished 7th at the 1993 World Ski Championships in Morioka . And with the sixth place in the Super-G of Kvitfjell he placed in the middle of the world rankings.

In the 1993/94 season he had to be content with second place in the downhill from Saalbach-Hinterglemm (behind Ed Podivinsky ) before he came second in the downhill runs from Aspen and first place 24 hours later . In the overall World Cup he was able to classify himself in 14th place at the end of the season.

After training for the downhill run at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer , Mullen was one of the favorites alongside Kjetil André Aamodt , Marc Girardelli and Luc Alphand , but retired in the race itself and his compatriot Ed Podivinsky won the medal that Mullen had secretly hoped for.

In the following winters Mullen was never able to repeat these results - also due to various injuries - so that he resigned in 1999.
