The Persen Verlag , based in Hamburg is part of the AAP teacher World GmbH, formerly AAP teacher Fachverlage GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Stuttgart Klett Verlag .

history

The couple Sigrid Persen-Müller and Heiner Müller founded the publishing house in 1976 in Hamburg-Bergedorf . At the beginning, Heiner Müller, language teacher in the kindergarten, developed Bergedorf picture sheets for speech training. A short time later he founded Persen Verlag GmbH with his wife Sigrid Persen. In 1982 the publishing house moved from Bergedorf to Horneburg . In 1999 the founders and owners sold the publishing house to Klett-Verlag and withdrew from the business. In 2007 the company headquarters was relocated to Buxtehude. In July 2010 Persen Verlag merged with AOL Verlag and Auer Verlag - also a subsidiary of Klett Verlag - to form AAP Lehrerfachverlage GmbH. Since 2009 Christian Glaser has been managing the Persen Verlag as managing director of AAP Lehrerfachverlage GmbH.
In 2012 the company headquarters was relocated from Buxtehude to Hamburg-Harburg. In 2019, AAP Lehrerfachverlage GmbH was renamed AAP Lehrerwelt GmbH.

The company publishes teaching materials, worksheets and master copies for teachers. The entire range of Persen Verlag includes around 1500 titles for almost all subjects in primary and special schools as well as secondary schools. The products are sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 35 employees and 50 freelance authors work on around 150 new titles every year. Including authors such as Ralph Birkholz, Gerlinde Blahak , Kurt Hackenbruch, Alexandra Hanneforth , Kirstin Jebautzke , Nicole Weber and Bernd Wehren .

The publisher sells its products under the Bergedorfer® brand and the associated product lines such as Bergedorfer® master copies, Bergedorfer® teaching ideas, Bergedorfer® Förderpraxis, Bergedorfer COLORCLIPS®. The product portfolio also includes the titles from the “Modern Pedagogy - MoPäd” series. The Bergedorfer® brand was registered with the German Patent and Trademark Office in 1992. It stands for teaching aids that provide teachers with materials on subject-specific topics as well as on general topics of everyday school life.

The products are sold through the publisher's own web shop as well as stationary bookshops and online bookshops. Since 2011, the publisher's products have also been sold in digital formats as e-books .
