The AOL-Verlag , based in Hamburg is part of the AAP teacher World GmbH, formerly AAP teacher Fachverlage GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Stuttgart Klett Verlag .

history

The publishing house arose from an initiative by teachers who, in the middle of the Upper Rhine region, set up the Oberkircher Lehrmittel (AOL) working group , a non-profit association for the production of practical teaching and learning materials. The publishing house was founded in December 1980 in the Lichtenau district of Scherzheim by the married couple Hertha Beuschel-Menze and Frohmut Menze. In 2000, the Klett publishing house in Stuttgart acquired a majority stake in the company. Eight years later, on March 1, 2008, the publishing house was assigned to Persen Verlag GmbH in Buxtehude and the company headquarters relocated to Buxtehude. In July 2010, AOL-Verlag merged with Persen Verlag and Auer Verlag - also a subsidiary of Klett-Verlag - to form AAP Lehrerfachverlage GmbH . In December 2012, AOL-Verlag and Persen Verlag moved to Hamburg together. In 2019, AAP Lehrerfachverlage GmbH was renamed AAP Lehrerwelt GmbH.
