Life

At the age of four, Mody received his first pianistic support and training from his teachers Feroza Dubash Labonne and Farida Dubash. These strongly shaped his musical interpretations and his understanding of classical music.

At a young age he played in various music competitions and concert appearances before he began studying music with Margarita Fyodorova as a scholarship holder at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow . In particular, she brought him closer to the works of Alexander Scriabin.

After completing his studies in Moscow with a “Master of Fine Arts” diploma as a soloist as well as in chamber music and lied accompaniment, he completed - again as a scholarship holder - postgraduate studies at the University of Music in Karlsruhe with Fanny Solter and Miguel Proenca. He completed master classes under Sontraud Speidel and Eduardo Hubert.

He followed invitations to concerts and festivals in Europe, Asia and South America as a soloist with and without orchestra as well as in chamber music formations, such as with “ Martha Argerich & Friends”.

Pervez Mody played piano concerts with orchestra, appeared in chamber music formations and piano duos and published records, including the piano works by Alexander Scriabin for the Thorofon label.

Since 2016 he has been part of a multi-year concert cycle with the complete piano works of Ludwig van Beethoven. With the violinist Isabel Steinbach he founded the “Duo Appassionata” and in 2012 played Scandinavian sonatas with works by Christian Sinding , Niels Gade and Edvard Grieg .

He was a member of the jury on various occasions, including at the “International Piano Competition” in Huesca and taught master classes in Germany, Argentina and India. Pervez Mody has been a Steinway artist since 2012.
