The Peschl Brewery was a brewery in the Lower Bavarian city of Passau . It was taken over by the Aldersbach brewery in 2008 and only continues to exist as a brand.

history

The brewery was first mentioned in the books of the city of Passau in 1259. It was the sixth brewery in Germany and the first in the city and district of Passau.

In 1855 the brewery was sold to the Peschl family, who owned it until the end of 2008.

The new residential area Peschl-Quartiere is currently being built at the last former brewery site (also the Peschl-Keller event location, which was previously known in Passau ) . All buildings on the 22,000 m² area have already been demolished.

Today the Peschl-Terrasse brewery and restaurant still exists under the brand name in Passau at the original brewery location in the old town of Passau , where beer was brewed for centuries. The buildings there are listed in the list of architectural monuments in Passau .

Former product range

The last beers brewed by Peschl were Meistertrunk , Original 1855 , Urhell , Festbier , Pils , Stephanus , Zwickelbier , Licht (draft beer) , Radler , Altbairisches Hefe-Weissbier , Dunkle Weisse and Leichte Weisse .
