history

From sandstone existing Pestkreuze probably originated in the 18th century. According to a legend, the last of three plague deaths was found during the plague of 1569, who were lost on the transport to the Bad Kissingen chapel cemetery (the Hausener cemetery was not established until 1813). In fulfillment of a vow of 1635 Hausener citizens welled on Thursday after Candlemas , the "victim Thursday" to belonging to the cemetery Mary's Chapel .

The plague crosses show a representation of the Mount of Olives with Christ on the cross and the thieves on both sides, Dismas facing him, Gestas facing away from him. The 3.40 to 3.70 meter high crucifixes are located on the square plinths with a height of 90 to 100 cm. The figures of the thieves are 1.20 meters high. Next to the crucifix of Christ there is a modern traffic light with an electrically operated light.

In front of the cross of Christ there is a Mater Dolorosa . The pedestal on which she stands bears a coat of arms showing a dog and a flower and a sun in the heart shield . The coat of arms without inscription and year is probably the coat of arms of the founder.
