Petar Stojanović

Petar Lazar Stojanović (born August 25, 1877 in Budapest , Austria-Hungary , † September 11, 1957 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) was a Yugoslav composer.

Stojanović studied violin and piano with Jenő Hubay and Robert Fuchs in Vienna . He founded the violin school for higher education here before going to the Conservatory in Belgrade as director and violin and composition teacher in 1925. In addition to his work as a violin soloist, he was also a member of a string quartet and was one of the founders of the Belgrade Music Academy.

He composed a. a. two operas and three operettas, two ballets and a symphonic poem, seven violin and two viola concerts, one horn and one flute concerto as well as chamber music works.
