Peter-Olaf Hoffmann

Peter-Olaf Hoffmann (born May 27, 1947 in St. Peter-Ording ) is a German local politician ( CDU ) who was mayor of Dormagen several times .

Life

Peter-Olaf Hoffmann graduated from high school in 1966, after which he studied law and political science at the universities of Freiburg and Bonn until 1971 . After his second state examination in 1974, he was a judge at the Düsseldorf District Court until 1980 .

In 1974 he joined the Christian Democratic Union . At the age of 28 he became parliamentary group leader of the CDU in the Dormagen city council. In 1979 and from 1987 to 1989 he was mayor of Dormagen before he was re-elected on August 30, 2009 with 41.1 percent. Surprisingly, he was not re-elected as mayor on May 25, 2014: His challenger, the SPD candidate Erik Lierenfeld , won the election with 52.1 percent at the first attempt.

From 1980 to 1985 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

In 1990 he went to the Viersener waste disposal company Trienekens AG. From 2000 to 2010 he was spokesman for the management of the waste disposal and recycling company Cologne mbH (AVG), which he co-founded in 1992.
