Erik Lierenfeld

Erik Lierenfeld (born October 6, 1986 ) is a German local politician ( SPD ) and has been the mayor of Dormagen since June 2014 and is currently the youngest incumbent in this office in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After graduating from high school, Lierenfeld studied administrative sciences at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia in Duisburg , which he graduated in 2009 with a degree in administrative management .

After the mayoral election in 2009, the 23-year-old was elected second deputy mayor of Dormagen. In 2014 the SPD put him up as a candidate for mayor. On May 25, 2014, he surprisingly won the election in the first ballot with 52.1 percent of the vote against the previous incumbent Peter-Olaf Hoffmann ( CDU ).
