Life

Peter Albers got involved in the social sector early on. After his apprenticeship as a carpenter, he was in 1926 for full- KAB - working secretary ordered to Kleve. Even during the time of National Socialism , the Catholic remained a contact for many people. After the end of the war, he was heavily involved in the formation of a new Christian party. During an event on September 23, 1945, together with the later Chancellor Konrad Adenauer , he spoke out in favor of the formation of the Christian Democratic Party in Kleve. On December 10, 1945, an application was made to the British military government for education and so on April 18, 1946, the founding of the “Christian Democratic Party, Kleve District Party” was approved.

Albers was elected to leading positions in the party and entered the Düsseldorf state parliament for his district. He was also the first district administrator of the Kleve district and was a member of the church council of Christ the King. He was also involved in many other church areas. Today the name of a street in Kleve reminds of him.
