Peter Doctor-Grabner

Peter Johann Arzt-Grabner (born March 8, 1959 in Tamsweg ) is an Austrian theologian and New Testament scholar .

Life

He completed his studies in theology in Salzburg and Rome and in Classical Greek Philology in Salzburg as Mag. Theol. (Salzburg 1984), Mag. Phil. (Salzburg 1985), Dr. theol. (Salzburg 1991) and with the habilitation in papyrology (Salzburg 2006). From 1987 to 1998 he was a university assistant and from 1998 to 2007 assistant professor. From January to May 2006 he taught as visiting professor for papyrology at the Classics Department at Baylor University . Since March 1, 2007 he has been teaching as an Ao. University professor . Since 2009 he has headed the papyrology research department. In August and September 2016 he was a visiting fellow in the Department of Ancient History at Macquarie University .

His work focuses on papyrus studies, methods of biblical interpretation, Koiné-Greek, textual criticism and everyday life of the Hellenistic period.
