Peter Coler

Peter Coler (* 1940 in Fürstenberg an der Oder ) is a German painter and graphic artist based in Bayreuth .

He is self-taught who worked as a civil servant until he retired. In 1972 he became a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists. He has received several prizes at home and abroad: in 1980 the Young Artists Prize of the Salzburger Kunstverein, in 1986 he was elected director of the Rausiger Malertage in Austria, in 2004 he received the Culture Prize of the City of Bayreuth and in 2007 the Art Prize of the Nürnberger Nachrichten .

Solo exhibitions and participation in exhibitions took place in 27 German, 6 British, 6 Austrian, 4 French, 3 Turkish and two Swiss and Italian cities as well as in Stockholm, Ube (Japan), Spa (Belgium) and Budapest.
