Peter Dietrich Rath

Peter Dietrich Rath (* 13. July 1938 in Opole ) since 1976 President of the German Automobile Club motorist protection .

Life

Rath is the son of the Lord Mayor of Zeitz and later a lawyer and notary in Altena Hugo Ludwig Rath (1904–1987). After attending school in Altena, Iserlohn and Bad Aussee , he studied law and political science at the universities of Graz, Göttingen and Bonn . In Göttingen he became a member of the Corps Hannovera . In 1965 he was first assistant to the management of a life insurance company. From 1966 until 1975 he was promoted to general agent of the legal protection insurer Rechtsschutz Union Versicherung in Munich. In 1976 Rath became managing director of the automobile club Kraftfahrer-Schutz eV. Under his leadership the number of members was expanded and a group turnover of over 100 million euros was achieved.

Rath also chairs the supervisory boards of the affiliated Auxilia legal protection insurance and KS insurance. Rath was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2001.
