The Automobilclub Kraftfahrer-Schutz e.V., founded in Berlin in 1935 . V. ( KS ) is the center of today's KS / AUXILIA group of companies and with around 600,000 members it is the third largest German automobile club . He is a member of the EAC European Automobile Club .
The company emerged from the automobile club and has developed into a group of companies dealing with all aspects of traffic and legal protection. The corporate group is based in Munich.
history
The automobile club was founded in 1935 under the name “Faculty e. V. ”was founded as a“ social support association ”for professional drivers. The independent automobile club was created with the first German autobahn and campaigned for more safety on the roads. In 1952 the club was renamed “German Professional Driver Protection Faculty e. V. “renamed. Two years later, the automobile club decided to open up to all motorists due to the significantly increasing popularity of automobiles.
In 1961 the club was renamed again and received its current name. In the course of this second renaming, the headquarters of the automobile club was relocated to Munich. Three years later, in 1964, Kraftfahrer-Schutz founded its own legal protection insurance company ; thus he was the first German automobile club to take this step.
In 1979 the driver protection was extended; the "KS Versicherungs-AG" was founded. Since 1981, Kraftfahrer-Schutz has been awarding the “Golden Oil Drop” energy and environmental prize. The award is given to innovations that help protect the environment and reduce fuel consumption.
In 2008, the automobile club was involved in the establishment of the Association of European Automobile Clubs based in Brussels .

The Automobilclub Kraftfahrer-Schutz e.V., founded in Berlin in 1935. V. (KS) is the center of today's corporate group.
With around 580,000 members, Kraftfahrer-Schutz e. V. the third largest German automobile club. The KS offers its members various club services, such as breakdown assistance, game damage and towing assistance and the KS emergency service.
KS is a founding member of the Association of European Automobile Clubs (EAC), whose aim is to influence transport policy in Germany and Europe from the EU metropolis of Brussels.
The club conducts safety-related events, trainings, courses as part of the Kind und Verkehr campaign , seminars, first aid courses as well as Kettcar, bicycle, moped tournaments and much more.
President of the automobile club is Peter Dietrich Rath. The chairman of the management is Rainer Huber, the other managing directors are Duygu Besli, Ole Eilers and Bernd Rademacher.
Auxilia legal protection insurance company
Auxilia was founded in 1964 and offers legal protection insurance to private individuals, the self-employed and companies throughout Germany. The company is sector-neutral, i. H. Products are offered in all areas of legal protection. The chairman of the supervisory board is Reinhold Gleichmann. The chairman of the board is Rainer Huber; other members of the board are Duygu Besli, Ole Eilers and Bernd Rademacher.
KS Insurance AG
KS Versicherungs-AG was founded in 1979 and offers cover insurance. The supervisory board and management board are the same as at Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG.
Golden drop of oil - KS Energy and Environment Prize
KS is also committed to environmental protection and energy saving. The KS Energy and Environment Prize is a prize for saving fuel in the international automotive and accessories industry. In 1981 the Automobile Club Kraftfahrer-Schutz awarded the KS Energy and Environment Prize for the first time.
The club awards the “Golden Oil Drop” to technical developments or organizational measures from the international passenger car or commercial vehicle sector or from road traffic in general. However, this is only possible with developments or measures that support motorists in their endeavors to drive economically and in an environmentally friendly manner. The prerequisite is that these have already been used in practice and that they are offered to motorists on market terms.
