Peter Fässler-Weibel

Peter Fässler-Weibel (born January 31, 1948 in Winterthur ; † August 19, 2011 there ) was a Swiss couple and family therapist .

Live and act

Peter Fässler-Weibel grew up in Winterthur and trained as a social worker after completing a business degree at the University of Applied Sciences for Social Work in Zurich . From 1981 his focus shifted to topics such as crisis management, crisis intervention , behavioral and trauma therapy.

In 1989 he was the initiator and founding member of the "Foundation for the accompaniment of suffering and grief" in Winterthur, which from then on acted as a counseling center for psychosocial crisis intervention. On January 1, 2011, business activities were transferred to the Swiss Crisis Intervention Foundation, also based in Winterthur.

In the 1997 attack in Luxor , in which 36 Swiss tourists were killed, Peter Fässler-Weibel and his team managed the repatriation and follow-up care for the survivors and relatives of the victims of the attack. When Swissair flight 111 crashed , he was entrusted with looking after relatives, as was the case of the fire disaster in Kaprun .
