Peter Forer Socher

Peter Forer Socher (born August 3, 1770 in Schwabsoien ; † September 28, 1840 in Apfeldorf ) was a German clergyman of the Polling monastery and pastor in Apfeldorf from 1824 to 1839. He was editor of collections of Catholic hymns.

Life

Benedikt (= baptismal name) Socher, host's son from Schwabsoien, graduated from the Domus Gregoriana as a seminarist in 1787 (today's) Wilhelmsgymnasium Munich and probably entered Polling Monastery in 1789 ; there he received the monastery name Peter Forer (ius). After the dissolution of his monastery, he was initially assistant priest in various parishes in the diocese of Augsburg and from 1824 pastor in Apfeldorf. In 1839 he was freed and died as a Kommorant in Apfeldorf on September 28, 1840.
