Peter Frank (born June 8, 1963 in Hanover ) is a German singer , entertainer and composer .

Life

He studied at the Hanover University of Music and Drama with degrees in school music, singing teacher and opera diploma. The singing lessons with Marie-Louise Gilles while studying music at the Music Academy in Hanover led to the decision to embark on a professional career as an opera and concert singer. While still a student, he received his first guest contract at the Oldenburg State Theater in the 1988/89 season as “Morales” in the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet . Other roles followed (including "Papageno" in a magic flute for children ) at the same house until the 1991/92 season. In permanent engagement at the Brandenburg Theater(1992 / 93–1998 / 99), a three-branch theater, he was able to develop various main roles in his field in opera, operetta and musicals and participated in opera gala programs and concerts (orchestral songs by Gustav Mahler and others).

His vocal pedagogy took him to the music academies in Hanover (1995–2004) and Würzburg (since 2004), as well as to the Landestheater Coburg (since 2009).

As a concert singer, he toured Europe and the USA with song programs and oratorios and took part in radio and CD productions. a. under Philippe Herreweghe , Simon Preston and George Alexander Albrecht (EMI-Classics, THOROFON, Teldec).

In his freelance work since 1999, he sang in opera productions (e.g. Magic Flute and Carmen at the International Music Festival Chiemgau 1999/2000, Die Lustigen Weiber at the Franco-German Music Forum Bayreuth 2004), played "Faust" in the Weimar musical production Mephisto 2003 and produced and played the musical comedy Babytalk (Lund / Zaufke) in Weimar in 2004/2005 .

In 2006 his first musical Der Graf von Gleichen (libretto: Dirk Schattner) was premiered, for which he was responsible as composer, leading actor and co-producer and which became a great success in Thuringia.

In 2013 he composed the spiritual musical “Jesus-Ganz.nah.dran” (libretto: Felix Leibrock) and also conducted the world premiere in the Lutherkirche Apolda.

In 2015 his first solo album “Neues Leben” was released.
