Peter Frellesen

Peter Frellesen (born March 20, 1949 in Heide ) is a German lawyer and was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice from 2001 to 2014 .

Career

Frellesen began his legal career after training as a lawyer . After working as a lawyer for over three years, he joined the judicial service of the State of Hesse in 1979. There he initially worked as a probationary judge at the Frankfurt am Main regional court , but in 1980 he moved to the judicial examination office at the Hesse Ministry of Justice . He wrote his dissertation under the title The reasonableness of helping . He was appointed judge at the regional court in 1981, but continued to work on a secondment in the judicial examination office. From 1984, in addition to his work as a judge at the regional court, he also held half a position in the examination office. In 1986 Frellesen became a judge at the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main . There he belonged to the 2nd civil senate and was also head of department in the judicial examination office.

On May 2, 2001, he began serving as a judge at the Federal Court of Justice. The Presidium of the Federal Court of Justice assigned Frellesen to the VIII Civil Senate , which was primarily responsible for sales and rental law and the law of commercial agents , and of which he was a member until his retirement, from February 2009 also as Deputy Chairman. From 2002 to 2009 Frellesen was also a member of the Senate for Legal Matters of the Federal Court of Justice.

After reaching the age limit, Frellesen retired on June 30, 2014. He has been the ombudsman for private banks in Germany since 2015.
