Peter Güssau
Peter Güssau (born May 6, 1938 ) is a former German soccer player .
career
Güssau was active as a defender for Lok Stendal from 1957 to 1975 . He completed 136 games in the GDR league and scored 32 goals. Outstanding teammates during his time at BSG Lokomotive Stendal were national players such as Gerd Backhaus , Kurt Liebrecht and Ernst Lindner . When the team from the Wilhelm-Helfers-Kampfbahn on April 30, 1966 in Bautzen lost the final of the FDGB Cup with 0-1 goals against Chemie Leipzig, he was not on the pitch as an active player. The player, who has been transformed from a center forward to a libero, completed two international B matches and experienced three league promotions with Stendal, but also four relegations. Güssau completed other games in the second-rate GDR league . The BSG was supported by the local Reichsbahn repair shop.
From 1975 to 1976 he also worked as a trainer for Stendal.
