Peter H. Hartmann

Peter H. Hartmann (* before 1959) is a German sociologist .

Hartmann studied sociology , economics and philosophy at the University of Hamburg and Indiana University in Bloomington from 1977 to 1983 . He received his doctorate in Hamburg in 1988 (theory of marriage stability ) and completed his habilitation in 1998 at the University of Cologne .

In 1996/1997 he was a substitute professor for sociology and empirical social research at the University of Siegen . He then worked as a freelance media researcher . Hartmann has been Professor of Sociology at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf since 1999 .

One of his areas of work is lifestyle research .
