Peter Herwegen

Peter Herwegen (born February 15, 1814 in Cologne , † December 28, 1893 in Munich ) was a German draftsman , painter and lithographer .

He received early training in painting and drawing in the years 1826–1830 from the Cologne painter Egidius Mengelberg . In 1837 he moved to Munich, where he became an association for Christian art in 1860 . Peter Herwegen was a supporter of the neo-Gothic . In addition to drawings, paintings and lithographs , he also produced certificates, memorial sheets, diplomas, business advertisements and business cards. In addition to his son Ernst, who died early, his daughter Veronica Maria Herwegen-Manini followed in his footsteps as an architectural painter .
