Peter Ingwersen (born October 10, 1962 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish fashion designer .

Life

Until his studies, Ingwersen lived on his parents' farm away from the big city; today he lives in the center of Copenhagen, is not married and has no children.

He broke off his studies at the “Danish School of Design” after three years, instead did an internship at Levi's in Brussels ( Belgium ) and was immediately offered a job there. From then on, he worked for the jeans manufacturer for almost 20 years , most recently as Global Brand Manager of “Levi's Red and Originals”.

A creative crisis brought Ingwersen back to his homeland, where he took over the post of Managing Director at the “Day Birger et Mikkelsen” label. In 2004 he left Day and founded “Noir” and “Illuminati2”. Since then he has been designing the Danish organic luxury label's collections together with designer Rikke Wienmann and has drawn on a network of befriended stylists, photographers and models.

Gwersen sources the cotton for its collections from its own plantation in Uganda . “Noir” combines cotton with silk, leather and other fine fabrics, the cuts are classically feminine. Rock 'n' roll and a slight fetish character have shaped the noir look so far.
