The 1st FFC Montabaur (full name: 1st Women's and Girls' Soccer Club Montabaur / Westerwald ) is a women's soccer club from Montabaur . The first team played in the 2nd Bundesliga South in the 2014/15 season .

history

In 1993 TuS Montabaur founded a women's football department . After a few years at the local level, the team made it to the Rhineland League in 2001. On May 30, 2005, the soccer players separated from TuS Montabaur by mutual agreement and founded their own club. Due to the regulations of the Rhineland Football Association , the team had to start over in the district league. After the immediate promotion, the team made it through to the regional league. In 2008 the team won the Indoor Rhineland Championship and the Rhineland Cup for the first time. The team ended the 2008/09 season in fourth place and lost 6-0 to SC Freiburg in the first round of the DFB Cup .

From 2012 to 2014 the club was runner-up in the regional league three times. In 2014, this place was enough for the first promotion to the second division, as champions TSV Schott Mainz did not receive a second division license due to a formal error. Relegation followed after just one year, which was followed by relegation to the Rhineland League in 2017. Remaining in the regional league could be secured by renouncing the promotion of the association league champion from the Palatinate. In the season after the “actual” sporting relegation 2017/18, the 1st team reached the final of the Rhineland Cup, which was won with 5: 6 i. E. lost and finished the season with a good 6th place.

The second team plays in the Rhineland League. In the youth field, the club has six girls' teams in play.
