Peter Torry

Sir Peter James Torry , GCVO , KCMG (born August 2, 1948 ) is a British diplomat.

Life

He was educated at Dover College and New College, Oxford , where he won the Blue Trophy in rugby . He is married and has three daughters.

He was accredited for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Washington DC, Bonn, Jakarta and Cuba. From 1998 to 2003 he was Her Majesty's Ambassador to Juan Carlos in Spain. From 2003 to September 30, 2007 he was Her Majesty's Ambassador to Berlin.

In 2005 an interview with him was published in Spiegel Online . In The Times of September 8, 2009, he commented on the 2009 federal election . He was awarded the B'nai B'rith Europe grants Award .
