Peter Kamp

Peter Kamp (born July 20, 1951 in Cologne ) is a German lawyer and former President of the Cologne Higher Regional Court .

Life

Kamp studied law and passed the first state examination in 1975 and the second in 1978. He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Cologne and as a lawyer . In 1979 he moved to the service of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and worked as a judge at the Mönchengladbach Regional Court in civil and criminal matters.

From 1987 to 1990 Kamp worked as a consultant in the Ministry of Justice of North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1989 he was appointed judge at the Higher Regional Court. In 1990/1991 he was in charge of the information technology department in the Ministry of Justice. From 1991 to 2000 he was head of the budget department. From 2001 to 2014 Peter Kamp was in charge of the budget, information technology, real estate and organization department of the Ministry of Justice. In a part-time position, he had been a member of the Judicial Examination Office in Düsseldorf since 1987 and of the Judicial Examination Office in Cologne since 1992.

With effect from December 1, 2014, Kamp was appointed President of the Cologne Higher Regional Court. He held this position until he retired at the end of 2016.

Peter Kamp is married and has two children.
