Bruno Loets

Bruno Johannes Loets (born August 24, 1904 in Leer (East Friesland) , † July 13, 1969 there ) was a German writer and translator .

Life

Bruno Loets came from a merchant family . After high school he graduated from in empty a training for booksellers . Then studied it Germanistik , philosophy and music at the University of Leipzig . Due to a lifelong heart condition, his studies remained without a degree. From 1931 Loets lived in Leipzig as a freelance writer and editor . He wrote literary and music reviews for various magazines and radio and began extensive translation work . From 1944 he lived in Leer again .

Bruno Loets wrote prose and plays , some in Low German . He has translated fiction for adults and children as well as non-fiction from Dutch into German .
