Peter Kjær (born November 5, 1965 in Fredericia , Denmark ) is a former Danish football player .

Career in the club

Vejle BK

Kjær started his professional career in 1983 at Vejle BK . With the Jutlanders he became Danish champion in 1984.

Silkeborg IF

He played for Jutland for almost ten years before moving to Silkeborg IF in early 1994 . He was also champion with Silkeborg and was a regular goalkeeper there.

Besiktas Istanbul

In the winter break of the 2000/01 season, he moved abroad and hired the Turkish top club Beşiktaş Istanbul . However, there he could not prevail.

Aberdeen FC

Therefore, Kjær moved to Scottish club FC Aberdeen in the summer . There he immediately became the goalkeeper. In 2003 he ended his career.

National team

U-21 national team

Kjær completed 17 missions for Denmark's U21s from 1986 to 1988.

A national team

Pete Kjær won the Confederations Cup in 1995 with the Danish national team .

However, it was not used at the time.

He was also a member of the team at the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Football Championship .

It was not until April 25, 2001 that he made his debut for the senior national team. In the 3-0 win against the Slovenian national team , he came on in the 65th minute for Peter Schmeichel , whose last international match it was.

He made his last international match on March 27, 2002 in a friendly game in the 3-0 defeat against Ireland . Kjær came on as a substitute for Thomas Sørensen at half-time in that international match.

It was nominated for the 2002 World Cup , but was not used. Kjær only made four internationals (one of which was a full season).
