Peter Krüsmann

Peter Krüsmann (* 1947 / 1948 ) is a former German basketball player and coach. He trained, among others, Hagen, Cologne, Dortmund and Ulm in the basketball league .

career

Krüsmann completed a sociology and sports degree and worked as a teacher, in 2010 he retired.

He played from 1971 to 1976 for SSV Hagen in the Bundesliga, in 1974 he won the German championship title with the team and in 1975 the DBB Cup. He also participated in 1971 with the German national team at the Gold Cup of the city of Bremerhaven part. In the 1977/78 season he was coach of the Hagen Bundesliga team and stayed at this post until 1980. Then he was head coach of Bundesliga club BSC Saturn Cologne , which he led to the DBB Cup victory in 1983 and the German runner-up in the Bundesliga. From the 1984/85 season, Krüsmann took over the coaching position in Hagen again and held it until 1988. He then worked as a coach at SVD 49 Dortmund and led the club to promotion to the Bundesliga in 1992. His third term of office in Hagen began in 1993 (meanwhile the team traded under the name Brandt Hagen ). In 1994 Krüsmann led the team to win the DBB Cup and was later named coach of the year 1994. In autumn 1996, Hagen parted ways with Krüsmann following a 45:91 defeat against Alba Berlin .

From 1997 to 1999 he was the coach of SSV Ulm in the Bundesliga and in 1998 led the team to the final of the German championship. He then took over the post of head coach at the Dutch first division club Landstede Zwolle. In 2001 Krüsmann suffered a heart attack, and his professional coaching career was over.

He later served as Vice President of Brandt Hagen and trained in the youth field in Hagen. In addition, Krüsmann was a consultant and examiner in trainer training and supervised school teams at the Hagen Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in the national competition " Youth trains for the Olympics ".
