Peter Lehner (born August 23, 1969 in Wels ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Since 2009 he has been city ​​councilor for economy and urban development in Wels, from 2013 to 2015 he was Wels Deputy Mayor, since 2020 he has been chairman of the social insurance of the self-employed (SVS) and chairman of the conference of social insurance agencies.

education

Peter Lehner attended the tourism school in Bad Leonfelden and completed the advanced course for tourism professions in Bad Ischl with a degree as a tourism clerk. Since his company was founded in 1990, Lehner has worked in the family business Impuls Büroervice GmbH, from 1999 to 2009 in the management. He is currently the managing director under trade law.

Professional background

Lehner was regional chairman of the Young Economy Upper Austria from 2001 to 2002 and federal chairman of the Young Economy Austria from 2003 to 2005 . He was then a member of the extended presidium of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce from 2004 to 2005 . At the Pension Insurance Institution (PVA) he was a member of the board of directors from 2005 to 2006, and then from 2009 to 2019 he was deputy chairman. Since 2009 Lehner has been responsible for the economy and urban development as a city councilor in the city of Wels, and was then Deputy Mayor of Wels from 2013 to 2015.

In April 2019, Lehner was elected chairman of the transition committee and thus assumed responsibility for merging the insurance carriers SVA and SVB for the social insurance of the self-employed (SVS) on January 1, 2020.

Since January 1, 2020 he has been chairman of the SVS and was elected first chairman on January 14, 2020 by the Conference of Social Insurance Institutions.
