The district court of Blankenburg was a court of ordinary jurisdiction in the district of the district court of Braunschweig . The court building in Blankenburg (Harz) in Saxony-Anhalt is a listed building .

The district court building is located at Mauerstraße 14 on the south side of Mauerstraße north of the old town of Blankenburg.

history

With the administrative reform in the Duchy of Braunschweig in 1850, local courts independent of the administration were created. In this context, the Blankenburg District Court was founded. It was the first instance responsible for the Blankenburg office. From autumn 1945 to summer 1946 the lawyer Eduard Reimer worked as chief magistrate at the district court. In 1952 the courts in the GDR were reorganized and district courts were introduced. In 1955, however, the Blankenburg court was dissolved.

Today the area belongs to the judicial district of the Wernigerode district court . The archived files of the Blankenburg District Court cover 63.9 meters and are located in the Saxony-Anhalt State Archives in Dessau .

In the local register of monuments , the courthouse is listed as a monument under registration number 094 01773 .
