Peter Lichtner-Hoyer

Peter Lichtner-Hoyer (* 1925 in Graz , Styria ) is a former Austrian versatile athlete and colonel in the Austrian Armed Forces .

Life

He was born in the interwar period as the son of an officer in the Imperial and Royal Navy in the Villa Managetta at the foot of the Ruckerlberg in Graz. His mentor and teacher re. of the Italian riding system was after the Second World War the extremely successful racing rider and Major General Camillo Bregant himself at the beginning of the 20th century . He himself is active in equestrian sports at an advanced age and runs a stud in Lower Austria (Gut Ritzenhof).

Career

After a serious war injury suffered in the Second World War, he took part in 1,500 competitions as a rider and modern pentathlon and reached 1,200 top positions. Lichtner-Hoyer took part in 24 world and European championships.
