Peter Linder

Peter Linder (born September 16, 1950 in Munich , † June 2020) was a German diplomat .

Life

After a two-year officer training with the German Navy , he studied history and political science and graduated with the academic degree of a master's degree. After joining the Foreign Service in 1979, he was employed at the Foreign Office, at the Embassy in Nigeria , at the Embassy in the Philippines and again at the Foreign Office in Bonn.

From 1989 to 1992 Peter Linder was permanent representative of the ambassador in Bolivia and then head of the economic department at the embassy in the Netherlands . After serving as head of a department in the Foreign Office from 1994 to 1998, he became permanent representative of the ambassador to Venezuela .

From 2001 to 2003 Linder headed the Foreign Office's crisis response center. From 2003 to June 2007 he was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ghana , then until 2010 in Guatemala . From 2010 to 2013 he was ambassador in Quito , Ecuador , from 2013 to 2016 in La Paz , Bolivia . He retired in 2016.
