Peter Ludes

Peter Ludes (born June 27, 1950 in Trier ) is a German communication scientist.

In 1971 he began studying sociology, political science and philosophy at the University of Trier . In 1973 he went to Brandeis University on a Fulbright scholarship , where he received a Masters degree in sociology in 1975 . He then returned to Trier, where he received his Dr. Phil. ( Magna cum laude ). In 1981/82 he taught at Memorial University of Newfoundland . In 1983 he received a Ph.D. from Brandeis. in sociology. In 1987 he completed his habilitation at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . From 1994 to 1996 he taught at the University of Mannheim.

As part of the special research area for screen media at the University of Siegen , he founded the message education initiative in 1997, based on the model of www.projectcensored.org .

He has been a professor at Jacobs University Bremen since 2002 .

One focus of his research are key images .
