Peter Marchat
Peter Marschat (born August 31, 1952 in Vienna ) is an Austrian bassoonist .
Life
In his childhood and youth, Marschat was a soloist with the Vienna Boys' Choir . He graduated from the Musikgymnasium Wien in 1971 , then completed his bassoon studies at what is now the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , which he graduated with honors in 1975. His teachers were Karl and Camillo Öhlberger . In 1973 he was a prizewinner of the “Wanas” foundation and won an audition with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra .
Since 1975 he has been a member of the orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper .
Peter Marschat is married and has two children.
