The Makorty Reservoir ( Ukrainian Макортівське водосховище ; Russian Макортовское водохранилище ) is a reservoir on the 144 km long Saksahan , a tributary of the Inhulez , in the center of Ukraine .
The Makorty Reservoir is located in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on the border of Rajone Sofijiwka and Pjatychatky . The dam is located in the village of Makorty (Ukrainian Макорти ), district council of Persche Trawnja in the north of the Sofijiwka Rajon, which also gave the reservoir its name. The communities of Saksahan and Sajiwka lie on its banks .
It covers an area of 13.3 km² and comprises 57.9 million m³ of water. The length is 57 km with an average width of 0.3 km. The average depth is 4.3 m with a maximum depth of 32.5 m.
The 1958 created artificial lake serves the drinking water supply of Pjatychatky , industrial water supply as well as a recreational area.
