The Saksahan (Ukrainian and Russian Саксагань ; Russian Saksagan ) is a 144 km long left tributary of the Inhulez in the southeastern part of the Dnieper highlands in central Ukraine .
The river with a catchment area of 2025 km² has its source near the village of Malooleksandriwka , Verkhnyodniprovsk district not far from Verkhivtseve in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and is dammed in its middle course to the 13.3 km² Makorty reservoir . The Saksahan is connected to the Dnieper via the Dnepr-Kryvyi-Rih Canal .
After flowing through the 2.1 km² Kressowskoe reservoir (Ukrainian Кресівське водосховище ) within the Krywyj Rih district, it flows into the Inhulets near the city of Krywyj Rih .
The maximum flow rate is 240 m³ / second. The average gradient of the river is 0.76 m / km, in Kryvyi Rih it is reduced to 0.4-0.3 m / km. Due to its low gradient, the flow speed of the river is very low. Their width is between 5 and 15 m, but sometimes reaches 20–40 m. Its upper course lies in a V-shaped, its lower course in a trapezoidal river valley.
