Peter Moosbrugger

Peter Moosbrugger (born July 27, 1924 in Bizau ; † December 14, 2007 in Hörbranz ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 1970 to 1984 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Moosbrugger attended the Hörbranz elementary school for eight years and graduated from the Mehrerau technical college for fruit and horticulture between 1941 and 1942. He also attended the officers' school and did military service from 1942 to 1945. After his return from captivity, he worked on his parents 'farm from 1945 to 1962, and from 1962 he continued to run his parents' farm himself.

Politics and functions

In 1954, Moosbrugger became a member of the Austrian People's Party and the Farmers 'Union and acted as deputy chairman of the Farmers' Union in Hörbranz. In the People's Party he was also a member of the ÖVP local party leadership in Hörbranz and from 1970 to 1984 a member of the regional party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg. From 1960 to 1975 he was involved in local politics in Hörbranz as a member of the local council, and from 1965 to 1975 he was a member of the local council.

In the Vorarlberg state parliament Moosbrugger was sworn in on April 22, 1970 as the successor to Ludwig Hagspiel or representative of the Bregenz constituency . He was a member of the state parliament until November 5, 1984 and was a member of the economic committee, member of the culture committee, member of the energy policy committee and member of the agricultural committee, of which he was most recently chairman.

In addition to his political mandates, Moosbrugger was a member of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Agriculture from 1966 to 1978 and a member of the State Agricultural Senate from 1984. He was a member of the board of directors of the Hörbranz music association, a member of the Vorarlberger Officers Society and a member of the supervisory board of the Raiffeisen Association and the Raiffeisenkasse Hörbranz. He was also chairman of the Leiblachtal dairy cooperative.

Private

From 1954 Moosbrugger was married to Irmgard Weiss, who came from Upper Silesia. He had a daughter in 1956, 1958 and 1963. He was an actor in the Hörbranz theater group and deputy chairman of the Hörbranz men's choir. He was also the district chairman of the brass band and chairman of the Hörbranz Comradeship Association.
