Peter Muschalla

Peter Muschalla (born November 6, 1942 in Potsdam ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Muschalla completed an apprenticeship as an offset printer until 1962 . He graduated from high school and studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1966 to 1970 . Muschalla works as a lawyer in Caputh . He is married and has two children.

politics

In the state elections in Brandenburg in 1990 , he was elected in constituency 20 (Potsdam, Land I) as a direct candidate for the SPD in the Brandenburg state parliament. In the elections in 1994 and 1999 he won in constituency 22 (Potsdam-Mittelmark II). He was a member of parliament from October 26, 1990 to October 13, 2004. Muschalla was the legal policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and was deputy chairman of the legal committee of the state parliament for the entire time. From 1990 to 1994 he was also deputy chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control and from 1994 to 2004 he was deputy chairman of the electoral review committee. From 1994 to 2004 Muschalla also chaired the G 10 commission .

In 1993 and 1994 he was chairman of the committee of inquiry to clarify allegations against the state government and employees of the executive branch in connection with property matters and the award of public contracts. From 2000 to 2003 he was chairman of the parliamentary committee of inquiry to clarify the joint responsibility of the shareholders of the BBF for the failure of the privatization process and the procurement process for the private construction of the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BBI) .

Muschalla took part in the 11th Federal Assembly on May 23, 1999 , when Johannes Rau was elected Federal President .
