Peter Nirsch

Peter Nirsch († September 17 or 18, 1581 ) was a German serial killer .

Nirsch murdered his victims in various regions from 1575, including pregnant women at first. The magic belief in children's hands and hearts, to which Nirsch was attached, provides a background. Later, however, the material motif was decisive, while he believed he was protected from discovery.

Nirsch was recognized and arrested in an inn in Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate , five miles (approx. 37 km) from Nuremberg . He was due to 520 seasoned murders from 16 September 1581 for a period of two days of torture, including belt cutting , adding burns and wheels , executed.
