Peter Numagen (* around 1450 possibly in Trier ; † November 6, 1515 in Zurich ) was a Swiss cleric , scholar and notary . He possibly came from the Moselle community of Neumagen and was trained at the University of Basel in 1476/1477 . There he was then a public scribe and 1481 cleric of the Archdiocese of Trier and from 1482 secretary of the archbishop and council agitator Andreas Jamometić . From 1488 to 1515 Peter was chaplain of the St. Leonhards Chapel in Zurich and canon and chapter notary of the Zurich Great Minster . He collected writings on canonical, spiritual and natural history content.

Numagen wrote some Latin works, almost all of which have survived in the manuscripts of his library (today in the Zurich Central Library ). Among other things, he wrote a critical statement against Klaus von der Flüe and a defense letter for Andreas Jamometić .
