Peter Paul Ox
Peter Paul Ochs (* 1931 in Wange, Amt Grünhoff, Samland ; † May 1, 1994 ) was a German-Canadian painter and sculptor from East Prussia.
In 1952 he emigrated to British Columbia . He studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière with Ossip Zadkine (1956) and in Hamburg with Hans Martin Ruwoldt (1957). He had art exhibitions at the Seattle Art Museum (1959) and the National Gallery of Canada (1964). He was among the founders of the Sculptors' Society of British Columbia . In 1956 he received the Canada Council Award . The Royal British Columbia Museum exhibited many of his installations . From 1982 to 1989 he lived and painted in Greece . In perestroika he visited northeast Prussia . He painted pictures of East Prussian themes based on impressions from the present and based on old models. Some pictures hang in the East Prussian State Museum and in the East Prussia Cultural Center .
