Peter Payer (lawyer)

Peter Payer (born May 1, 1927 in Freudenstadt ; † July 29, 2009 ) was a German lawyer and managing director of the Robert Bosch Foundation .

Life

From the summer semester of 1948, Payer studied law at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen , where he became a member of the Tübingen fraternity, Derendingia . He passed his first and second state exam successfully and received his doctorate in 1957 for Dr. iur.

On July 1, 1970, he joined the Robert Bosch Foundation as a permanent employee and became deputy managing director in 1972. From 1977 to 1990 Payer was the full managing director. He has made a particular contribution in the areas of health system research and international understanding. In addition, he was particularly committed to deepening German-French, German-American and German-Polish relations. He has received several awards for his services.

In 1990 he retired. In the same year he became Vice President of the German Poland Institute in Darmstadt. Payer resigned from this post in 2005 for health reasons.
