Peter Pišťanek

Peter Pišťanek (born April 28, 1960 in Devínska Nová Ves , † March 22, 2015 in Bratislava ) was a Slovak author.

His first novella, Rivers of Babylon , was published in 1991 (it was published in English in 2007 , translated by Peter Petro). The book was followed by two more: The Wooden Village and The End of Freddy . All three books together form a trilogy . They tell the life of Rácz, a fictional criminal who fled in the autumn of 1989 when the communist system collapsed.

Pišťanek also actively wrote about the production of alcoholic beverages, including cognac and bourbon .

Peter Pišťanek died of suicide on March 22, 2015.
