Peter Raisch (lawyer)

Peter Raisch (born April 19, 1925 in Pforzheim ; † November 18, 2008 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer . From 1977 to 1990 he was a professor at the Fernuniversität in Hagen .

Raisch studied law and received his doctorate in 1954 from the University of Heidelberg . He then worked in the Federal Ministry of Justice , where he was most recently a consultant for white- collar crime . In 1964 he completed his habilitation with a thesis entitled "Historical prerequisites, dogmatic foundations and changes in meaning in commercial law". In that year he became professor for civil , commercial and economic law at the University of Kiel . After four years he accepted a call from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , where he became director of the Institute for Commercial and Business Law.

From 1977 to 1990 he was professor for civil law, corporate law and commercial law at the Fern-Universität in Hagen. He was only the second law professor to teach at the Fern University. His main research interests were commercial law, antitrust law and methodology . Raisch was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law from 1983 to 1985, and Dean from 1987 to 1988. In 1990 Raisch retired. He remained loyal to teaching and research afterwards and in 1995 published the work "Legal Methodology from Ancient Rome to the Present". He also held occasional seminars and lectures.
